10 years ago I found bali (or to be honest, Kuta) to be a bit of a scam - everyone seemed to be ready to rip you off or con you (that's without doubt an exaggeration but that was my feeling). My wife said she would never go to Bali again. This year, pre-armed with info such as that from Filo and the BTF we went back (I swore I would do on the day of the second bombing). This time Sanur and candidasa. Hardly a hassle. Not only more seasoned with visits elsewhere in Asia but we both were ready and able to deal with any problems. Going back next january.
