The umbal umbal poles were only about 1.5 metres and once wrapped and secured we had them stowed in 'over size' baggage with the surfboards etc on the plane.
They are not bamboo, actually I dont know what sort of wood they are. Bent well into shape though.
We have bought umbal umbals at 4 shops along the Tegallalang strip, two on the right and 2 on the left. The shops stand out well displaying the umbrellas and flags.
