Hi tannalee, in Aug2005 we had our 5th trip to Bali, staying in Ubud 4 days the Melasti in Legian 12 days and found it was much cooler (cold) in the pool after about 4pm. Other guests commented that it was always too cold in Bali in August. We hadn't been there in August, but didn't think Bali ever got cold or even cool, so we were surprised. The year before in March 2004 we stayed at the Besaki for 4 nights and just loved it, didn't want to leave.
