Hiring a car would be the most straight forward way. For between 70,000rp (jimmy) to 150,000rp (larger car- Avanza)a day, you could drive from Kuta to Amed and the other destinations and then return the car when you get back to Kuta. There is virtually no traffic around Amed and from Amed we drove up to nearly Singaraja and the went over the mountains and Kitamani to get too Ubud, great sightseeing and hardly met another car.
