After breakfast it was off to change more money so I went to get Bob and Mark because they were out of money as well or should I say the ladies were out of money. Now it is time to go to the beach with the granddaughters to get their hair braided. You would think that a four and five year old would not sit for that long with out complaining. The reason for this is you know the fellow (one of many) that comes along with ice cream on the beach and you can get a Magnum for 15,000 kept them in good order as well as Nanna not that they would have complained. They have really been looking forward to this trip for a long time.

We were going to bring along our grandson again to my oldest son but his mother said no because she was scared of another bomb. We took him in 2005 and had just left Rajas going to the hotel when the bomb went off so I can understand her concern. My grandson was playing pool with the young fellow from WA the night before that was killed and staying at the hotel and told his mom about him. She will come around again I hope by the next trip. He is only twelve and a very good boy.

Bob and Pam came with us to the beach but by this time Bob was learning to say no in a polite way but still had many people over him because he can't say no in a nasty way so good on you Bob. I know one thing as we have been told by friends of theirs and ours it was the best trip they have ever had and want to come back with us.

The days went by and the hand bags were filling up. My wife said the bag shops along garlic lane were of good value and assisted the income of the seller's as did Pam. The good thing about the northern side of garlic lane is in the afternoon they put the shades down and all you have to do is sit at one and you can see the girls come out of one shop and into another. This way you do not need to keep getting up off the little stools and following them. All you have to do is wait until they are finished and they give you a wave to come and carry the goods.

One thing about hand bags is that you go out the front of Ramayana shopping centre and head towards the markets about three hundred meters on the left hand side there is a good hand bags shop that has two floors and about 50,000 cheaper. We found this out when we were in Denpasar and decided to walk to Ramayana from the gold street. I told the girls and Bob it was only a short walk but is quite a way. I think ladies can smell new hand bag shops as this is what happen here. After twenty eight minutes in the shop my wife came out with three more hand bags and Pam with two. During this time Bob and I counted the motor bikes in a five minute period that came by. I can probably get everybody to guess how many but here is the figure 358 motor bikes in five minutes and most carrying two to four people.

While in Denpasar along the gold street we were the only (4 people) of western appearance for the whole time we were there at least two hours. Even at the markets I did not see one. There were so many people trying to sell us something that we bought a few things from different people.

The next day Bob and I were given the honor of looking after my two granddaughters as all the rest were going back to Chill for another massage. The only rules we were given was no battered fish and chips and of course no swimming in the sun. OK so Bob the girls and I were off to take some photos of a new building down from the Bali Hai hotel now closed for a friend who works for Break free holidays that might manage the hotel when finished if finished. Well he will be waiting for quite awhile before it is finished.

So off to Discovery to get something to eat and do a little shopping for ourselves. First thing the girls see is KFC so in we go. No matter how many times you have been to Bali it never ceases to stop making you laugh at times. I went to the counter behind eight other people with only one person serving and another line of the same amount. OK got to the counter and ordered four of the same thing two pieces of chicken, chips and a coke. They only had enough chicken for two regular meals and I would have to wait 11 minutes for the other two meals to be ready. OK so I said I will pay for the lot and to call me when the other two meals were ready. 11 minutes went by, 20 minutes went so I thought I better go up myself as I saw the regular chicken being served. I was in the line for another eight minutes and when it was my turn I asked the girl for the other two meals and she asked for the money and I said I have already paid and she said no I have not.
I had thrown the original docket away and the cleaner had picked it up so I could not prove it. A lady behind me (Indonesian) spoke up and said to her that I have paid because she was there when I paid for all the meals as the same had happen to her but we got nowhere so I paid again. Since the Indonesian lady tried to help me out I paid for her two meals as well and her little girl was very happy.

Now remember no battered fish and chips.

Off we went to the top floor for the girls to have fun in games room. We bought the tokens for the girls to play with and I think Bob had just as much fun. All these tickets started coming out of the machines and we did not know what they were for at that time so I asked and some 100,000 rp later and 473 tickets we exchanged them for two diary books and two pens that probably would only cost 10,000 anyway we had a good time.
Off we go to the bread shop but really did not like what they had because we only wanted a donut for the girl's not something real heavy for them to eat.

We were off to Krispy cream next door when we walked into a tiny tot's pretty girl competition and the girls won. The girls really did look nice with their braided hair and little hats on. They spoke on the mic and gave their names and where they were from and I was really proud of them. Next stop the donuts but I think it was me that was looking forward to them.
I bought six and got six free of the glazed ones. I mean they are really good to eat and it does not take long to eat four or five. As we were leaving the girls were given a hat and four balloons. On the way back to the KBC we gave two balloons to two little girls and it really made their day.

Back to the pool and everything was fine because we planned to be out of the pool before mom came home but it did not work that way. Now the trouble was about to begin. We were in trouble with the pool to begin with so we told mom that we had something to eat at KFC and the girls said they had deep fried chicken and mom was upset with Bob because I told her Bob said they were only not to have fish and chips. Mom asked us what the girls had to drink and we said Pepsi and mom said the girls do not have Coke so I said Bob said it was alright for the girls to have a Pepsi not a Coke. I know it sounds like I blame Bob a lot but we really did have a great time in Bali because I like to have a good time and the little girls topped it off because Bob and Pam also took care of them well.

Four days left.
