This is good advice! There are a few things to be wary of with these imported steering wheels.
Firstly let me say I speak with just a little experience, in that we run a full registered Street Machine in NSW & QLD. We have bought back both steering wheels AND gear knobs at various times. Forget the gear knobs!.. threads are mostly very bad, or incorrect size, PLUS wooden knob part often becomes unglued.
Steering wheels in Australia have to meet strict standard controls. The big issue with the ones in Bali at that time were that they were just a few MM smaller in diameter that the Australian standard. Plus, many of the BOSS kits sold did not necessarily fit our models here in Oz. Drillings were off centre or incorrectly spaced, or metal used is soft and threads stripped out.
We actually got disqualified from entering a burnout at the Summernats until we had changed the steering wheel.
Best to check with RTA here first, and take a tape measure with you!
