In April I went Tsv-Cairns-Darwin-Denpasar return,
Just about to go Virgin Blue to Sydney, overnight stay then Garuda Sydney - Denpasar.
Timewise, Cairns - Bali is quicker, but dearer.
Sydney to Bali is cheaper but you have to stay overnight the night before as the flight leaves Sydney at 10am.
Or else, Brisbane via Singers, KL, or Taipai then to Bali, a few people have done this lately if you want to check the archives.
Certainly is not cheap or easy to get to Bali from North Queensland, so I'm really hoping for another alternative soon. Maybe Tiger Air or Virgin will come up with something.
