Last year shen we were in bali the Kuta karnival was on and as part of it they had a kite flying competition. I believe that they were trying to break a world record for the most kites flown at the one time. Not sure if they did it, but there were hundreds of kites. They were being flown all along Kuta beach from Tuban up towards Legian. It was a great sight. I don't know if they are doing it again this year but the Karnival is from 1st to 9th Sept.
