I think it is different how easy you get it. When we started to go to Asia 15 years ago I always get sick but now must it be years since the last time. I think my stommac is used to the bacteria now :-)I have been to Bali two summers now, 4 weeks every time and had never felt anything. Only thing I do (and keep on nagging about to my daughter) is to wash your hands very often. I do everything you shouldn't; brush my teeth in tap water, eat salad, eat ice cream by scoop etc.
A good medication if you do get sick is "Lexinor" made by Astra Zenecka. I don't know if you can get them in Bali, you can bye them in Thailand anyways. After one of them it feels like you have cotton in your stommac and the pain goes away. You take one per day for appr. 5 days then you should be OK.
