Hubby and l had headed up to lovina for the night leaving our 20+ kids in kuta with my sister and brother, on the drive up there we received an sms from friend in aust that there had been warnings issued supposedly due to an sms from indonesia.
Being a concerned parent l msg kids and told them, asking them to be careful and maybe give the clubs a miss, on our return that awful night we had told the kids, who were staying at a different hotel where we were going for dinner if they needed us, and not more than half an hour later we heard it, as did the kids and then the sirens, but because of those msgs we had all been a bit more aware and my kids had known where we were and came straight there.
So l feel that these warnings are'nt a bad thing if it reminds us to be a little bit aware and let people know your plans if traveling in a group etc.
We stayed on for 8nts and have been back 5 times since and will be there in sept with the kids again, nothing will stop us from going to a place we love, but sadly l will always have a healthy respect for these warnings whatever thier basis.
Cheers Nikki.
