The following advice is posted on the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trave website:

"We advise you to reconsider your need to travel to Indonesia, including Bali, at this time due to the very high threat of terrorist attack. We receive regular reports indicating that terrorists are planning attacks against Western interests against a range of targets, including places frequented by foreigners. If you are in Indonesia, including Bali, and are concerned for your safety you should consider departing. If you do decide to travel to Indonesia, including Bali, you should exercise extreme caution."

This is the same posting I have read for my last three visits. One thing though, I received my travel documents this afternoon and there was a letter from Garuda Orient Holidays "strongly advises that you keep yourself informed about the latest situation in Bali from the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. www.dfat.gov.au/zw-cgi/view/Advice/Indonesia.

This is the first time I have received anything like this.

WE ARE STILL DEPARTING ON FRIDAY.
