DO NOT STAY HERE.
I've already left a review on Mic's but thought I'd leave one here too.
This hotel was a disappointment right from the start. We negotiate with hotels directly and it often toon a couple of weeks for replies. Always with a different excuse. A month before we left I tried to reconfirm as we just had a "funny feeling about this one" and it took 3 weeks for them to respond.
A positive was the driver they sent to collect us from Sanur was wonderful (a friend of someone who works at the hotel).
When we arrived we were placed in the family room, which would have been great is if were a bit cleaner. I was pretty disgusted by the state of the "kitchen" and wouldn't even put the babies bottles on the bench. The toilet broke and the baby cot was very unsafe (low side and only locked at one end of the collapsible side). We wandered around the grounds and found a very nice looking pool but a very very run down "spa" that housed a washing mahine and a grotty looking day bed.
We decided to go for a walk into town. After being told it was about a 15 minute walk with the three kids we set off through the monkey forest. It actually took about 35 - 40 minutes. Transport back was going to be a half hour to an hour wait. It was about this time that we decided that we better look for other accommodation in Ubud (mainly due to the distance and not wanting to wait 30+ minutes every time we wanted to go back tot he hotel).
When we got a cab back to the hotel and told them that we would be moving on in the morning we were met with THREATS and ABUSE. I have never had such bad treatment in Bali. We were told that we would have to pay the whole amount for the 7 nights we'd booked, then half of it when I complained. They had to contact their boss who obviously was far away as we were still waiting an hour later when we decided to go out to dinner. After dinner my Husband ended up trying to sort out the rate we should be paying for the night and we told all kinds of lies. They even threatened to call the police if we didn't pay the 50% cancellation (thats 50% of the entire weeks booking). For the record we did give them more than 12 hours notice that we wouldn't need the other nights. They got very abusive towards my husband. Even threatening him when we said we'd post negative comments on the forums when we got home.
After deciding on a rate we went to bed. The family room is right next to the "resteraunt" and was rediculously loud and bright most of the night. We think that this is where a lot of locals hang out because the noise went on into the very early hours.
Breakfast before we left as the worst we had anywhere in Bali. Very basic eggs and juice or coffee.
Overall I'd say it was the WORST SERVICE IN BALI. If you can avoid it DO NOT stay here. I'd rather sleep in the monkey forest. If you were only staying here you'd have a very messed up opinion of the Balinese people.
