My son has dyslexia. Have tutor for him here at home. found the problem was he missed a block of learing in grade one. tutor took him back to starting all again and repetitive writing and spelling. took lots of time and energy from him, us and tutor, but her is now is year 6 and last year he got outstanding student of the year. I had flash cards and postit notes everywhere over the house so everywhere he went he saw letters and numbers, and eventually after 3 years he managed to get back on track. We found that the best place to put up letters and numbers was in the toilet and bathroom as there is not much else to look at in these areas. But dont push when they are tired as the concentration is gone. Hope this helps your friend
