Changing money in Nusa Dua

Hi, we will be going to Bali in July: first time ..... We will be staying in Nusa Dua: any recommendations for safe places to change money in this area?
Also, should we take Traveller Cheques (which ones are best: US$ or GBP - we are from the UK)? Or shall we just get money when we get there using a credit card and ATM?
