Hi Stacey. We arrived back from Bali on Sunday with our 10 month old bubby. Had a fantastic time with him. We took most of his food from home but he also ate some food from the restaurants. I took a tube of vegemite and some days i grabbed some bread from the breakfast room and made a vegemite sammy for his lunch.
The balinese people were fantastic with him - at most places the staff took him while we ate.
He did a lot of swimming and drank half of the pool each time but didn't get sick.
I took nappies from home but ran out (due to him drinking half of the pool!). We bought nappies from Mataharis, they were cheaper than here and certainly did the job.
We had a bit of trouble keeping him off the ground as he is not yet walking so he wanted to crawl everywhere. We felt mean restraining him all the time but we tried to go to the beach most days and let him crawl to his little hearts content along the beach (best to do that in the morning to avoid being hassled!). We also took some antibacterial baby wipes and wiped his hands regularly. I took a packet of Miltons sterilizing tablets and bought a bucket and sterilized his bottles that way. I certainly wasn't "anal" with cleanliness but we just used commonsense.
Only prob that we had was the mozzies. He ended up with quite a few bites. We sprayed the room before he went to bed each night and covered him in a natural mozzie cream but he still ended up with bites. Hope all of that helps, i've probably missed some stuff but feel free to contact me if you have any questions! Have a fantastic holiday :-)
