A driver can take you to Menjangen Is, which is off the NW coast of Bali.
If you leave the Kuta area by 8, you can get to Permuteran area by 12, half hour boat trip over the island then snorkel all you want. We have found that the water is cleaner and has more fish, plants and coral life than others. You only have to walk/paddle in about 30m until you find the shelf where the sea life is prolific.
You can also take a 3 or so hour drive over to Amed on the east coast. There are lots of lovely spots there too.
Can catch the Bali Hai cruise boats over to Lembongan island and snorkel there too. Lots of watersports are included in the fare.
