I came home with a flu thingy 12 days ago and still can't shake it.
As for ear infection....our daughter always gets this in Bali and this time I asked her to wear silicone twist ear plugs ($2 at the apotik) and use more aqua ear and she was fine.
Last trip though the doctor at waterbom gave her ponstan tablets and they took the pain away instantly and no more problems....doctor at waterbom is free too by the way.
