Hi everyone. Just arrived back last night after 2 wonderful weeks with family and friends. Definately the most hectic Bali trip we've had but had a ball as usual.
We left from Hedland airport on the Saturday arvo. So easy flying from Hedland. No crowds and only 1hr 50 mins on the plane. Skywest were fantastic as usual.
DPS airport was really hectic and there was a bit of a wait to have our passports stamped but straight through customs with no problems. Bought duty free alcohol on the way through. Prices definately comparible with home and no waiting.
Checked in to Adi Dharma Hotel (our home away from home!!!). The staff were all really excited about our up and coming wedding. They were fantastic with our bubby, we never saw him at meal times, he was busy with his new friends!
We spent the most part of the first week organising the wedding, thought i was so organised before we left but we found that even the stuff that we organised from home had to be reorganised when we got to Bali. Lucky we had 10 days to get everything ready. I take my hat off to those who do it all in a few days!
We went through Bali Exotic Weddings -couldn't speak highly enough about them. We had a pre wedding meeting at the beach at Keraton Jimbaran a week before the wedding and both BEW and the staff at Keraton were so organised and professional.
We stayed at Keraton the night before the wedding (myself, my husband to be and our 10mth old son).
Our wedding was at sunset the next evening. It was absolutely magical, we had 35 friends and family with us and it couldn't have been more perfect. The beach was spectacular, the view took my breath away when i walked down the "ailse".
After the service we had drinks and nibblies on the beach before heading back to Adi Dharma for the reception.
What an amazing sight that greeted us when we arrived. The decorations and special touches were just beautiful. We couldn't believe how much time and effort Agung and her staff had gone to. I have never seen anything like it and as we hadn't expected it it was the most beautiful sight for us.
So we danced the night away and ourselves and our guests had a fantastic night. We haven't got our professional photos yet but if anyone wants to see some amateur shots i'd be more than happy to send them.
We all pulled up pretty rough after the wedding but for myself, my husband and my best friend and bridesmaid it was finally time to relax. Over the next couple of days we did heaps of shopping, the crew all went white water rafting, plenty of massages, surfing and did all the stuff that we love going to bali for.
Ate at heaps of nice places but our favourites would be Munching Inn, Enhays and Warung 96 on Benesari and also Goshas.
Hubby got a tattoo in Kuta. I was very nervous about him having it done as we didn't know anyone that had had anything done at that particular tattoo shop. I'm not a big tattoo lover but this one was awesome. Took 5 hours. Ouch! (Again if anyone wants a photo let me know!)
Forgot to mention that we also went to Lembongan in the first week, stayed in the Hai Tide Huts. Heaps of fun and ultra relaxing.
Also pleased to report that none of our crew got sick. We were reasonably careful with Bubby but it's pretty hard to keep a 10 month old bubby off the ground for 2 weeks and everything went in his mouth. Took heaps of food from home but he also ate a fair bit of the food that we ate. It's an easy place to take a bubby for a holiday. Only thing was that he got attacked by mossies. Didnt seem to bother him tho.
Well, might leave it there, terrified of boring everyone! If anyone has any question would be more than happy to answer them.
P.S. Got home and realised that we "misplaced" our marriage certificates while in Bali, oh well, might have to do it all again... :-)
