better off not taking the second hand stuff and just spending the $350 on buying new stuff over there for your friends and family. Each time I go I pack my own clothes and stuff to take (roughly 10 kgs), weigh my bags, then make it up to the limit with stuff to give away, so usually can take an extra 17kgs, multiply that by 2 people, twice a year = 68 kgs and don't have to pay excess.
