Noticed a sign at entry to Denpasar the airport there was a sign advising that it was ok to purchase duty free alcohol and take it on board as hand luggage provided it was in a sealed bag and had the receipt attached to it.

When we went into the duty free store a shop assistant was walking around advising customers that it was OK to purchase if flying Garuda but that Jetstar was not allowing passenger to take liquids on board. As we were flying Garuda we purchased a couple of bottles of gin and had no trouble at all taking in on board. Security did make sure the bag had been heat sealed (Duty free store does this)and checked the contents against the itemised receipt.
