Amed - diving and accommodation

Had anyone stayed in Amed to go diving. I have received an email from Eco Diving and are thinking of going there in October. They have listed 4 hotels - Santai and Life in Amed. Has anyone stayed in them and if so what would be you pick. What do you suggest doing in the area.
