I have done this the last two times in Bali very simple and easy and if you get change then its in rupiah enough to get you a taxi if you need one to your hotel.
Be careful though there is a 7 day visa and a 30 day visa. I had accidnetally written 7 days on my entry card as we were staying 7 nights but leaving on the 8th day. We were given a 7 day visa but when we got to the immigration counter he asked us what date we were leaving and it was the 8th day so we had to go back to the visa counter and pay the extra. CAn't remember how much but it was a silly mistake on my part. Could have caused us problems when leaving if it hadn't been picked up then.
