I remember my first trip to Bali I was 15 in 1981 (okay you can now do the math) Bali was only in its infancy as far as tourism. Western food really wasn't on the menu, it was all indonesian cuisine but at that age I didn't really look outside the circle and all I ate was nasi goreng (I love it!!) No nuggets etc back then. In hindsight I wish I had experiemented a bit more as now it is getting increasingly difficult to get a variety of indonesian food on the menus - there is so much western food. I do like the variety of food available but when I go to another country I prefer to eat their food. When we take our kids for the first time in August I will be encouraging them to try as many different foods as they can. I know they are kids and will let them have a treat of chips pizza etc every now and then. I do love their woodfired pizzas.
