has no beach, just slippery rocks and boulders, a legacy of the 1963 Agung eruption, when the molten lava reached the coastline in that area. You may be happier in Lipah village, or Jemaluk. [The line of villages south of Tulamben, one of which is Amed, are all known colloquially as Amed.] Varied accom and plenty of warung options.

The attraction of Tulamben is the American shipwreck, OK for snorkelers, but great for divers. If you're into snorkeling, both Jemaluk and Lipah have some good spots.

I believe there's accom at Jemaluk which would suit your budget.
