I always take some cash with me usually half of what i have in a money belt and the rest in a CASH PASSPORT CARD. (Inother words its called Travel Money Card).
As i dont want to have all my cash on me in notes i like to have half/half like stated for security reason incase some thing happens to the cash.
A CASH PASSPORT CARD is just like an eftpos card but its mostly made for people who go overseas, instead of taking my usually eftpos card like a commonwealth one i take a cash passport card instead.
You can get them from Suncorp Bank or some travel agents in Australia. You will have to just ask around.
Plus you get two cards incase you loose the first one then if that happens you just get the second one out put it in the ATM machine and it straight away cancels the first one. The are also password protected so you must use a different password for each one.
Also you can just add money to them when you want and the cards last 3 years, im actually due to get a new one HEHE!!!
But thats what i do when i go overseas, hope i answered you questions.

Thanks from Hayley

PS: the cash passport website is: wwwDOTcashpassportDOTcomDOTau (please replace the DOT with a real .
ALso its the light blue coloured card on the right site not the other card.
