I have to agree with Tracy. Both places are not that far away and it's really only for the afternoon and evening.

We always do Tanah Lot at sunset. There's a great market there also. If you get a good guide he can explain to you about the temple and if the tide is out you can be blessed and drink the holy water - supposed to give you long life and no I've never been sick from it either!!! LOL The kids might get a kick out of seeing the holy snakes in the caves!!

This time we will be going to Uluwatu for the Kecak dance at sunset. I think the kids would enjoy the Kecak dance as well. We plan to have dinner on the way back at GWK to see the view. Don't know about the timing of it all ...might have to be 2 trips to see the lights going on as it gets dark from GWK.

On our first trip we took our then 12 year old to the Barong dance and though we'd had enough after about 1/2 hour he thoroughly enjoyed it for the whole hour. It was all so new to him I guess and they do ham it up a bit for the tourists!!

Have a wonderful trip. I'm sure you will get much pleasure seeing Bali afresh through your childrens eyes.
