I recently emailed the Office of Transport Security re the new LAGS rules relating to insulin.
I thought I would share their response with fellow diabetics who, like me, want to carry their insulin in their hand luggage.
""Insulin is considered a prescription medication. Prescription medications and prescribed medical devices, including (your)insulin and small gel packs to keep the insulin at an appropriate temperature, are exempt from the new liquid, aerosol and gel security measures and as such, you are free to take your medication on board with you. There is no need to carry these prescription medications within the transparent, resealable one-litre plastic bag; however any medication and medical devices should be separated from your other carry-on baggage and shown to screening staff. You may also wish to bring supporting documentation such as a doctor's letter that outlines your need to take this medication or medical device on board with you.""
