That's such a great idea about the op shop because you wear things in Bali you may not wear when back home :-). Also I take the undies that are ready to bin and bring home the newies you buy there. Any toiletries/cosmetics keep to minimum as you can buy all there cheaper and you don't have to unpack it when you get home. When leaving give it to the hotel staff, favourite restaurant waitress, or drop them at orphanage/school etc. EXCEPT the Martha Tillaar of course. A trip notebook is good 'cause you THINK you're going to remember what you did, bought, went, ate etc. when you get home.
If travelling with someone, take copies of all cards, paperwork etc and swap when packing. If it's your first time take a conversion chart as you don't get much time to think when you are bartering the first couple of days. Take favourite bathers, didn't find them very cheap/suitable in Bali. Definately the offical tourist bum bag or I'm sure someone will sell you one when you get there:-) I've been 7 times and still take more than you have to. Remember to weight your bags prior to check-out and you can then decide what to give/throw away. Don't know your length of stay or where youare staying so that's about it. Just remember unless it's essential like medicines/eye glasses you can get anything there instantly. Have a happy holiday.
