I've bought bottled water at Sydney airport twice before. Once from a cafe on the outside and it cost $6 for each 600ml bottle and once on the airside out of a vending machine and I'm sure it cost about $4 for a small bottle that was maybe 300ml? I shudder to think what they cost now because those prices were in 2003!
If they had reasonable prices, nobody would complain about having to buy drinks airside to take on the plane, or buying their duty free at the airport etc. But Sydney airport has no reasonable prices, from the second you drive through the carpark gates, so that's just too much for us to expect.
