If your laptop works wirelessly at home, then all you need to do is take it with you to one of the hotspots. Most of these establishents will require that you purchase, at the very least, something to drink. Simply ask your waiter for the passsword. When you open your web browser, a window will appear from the hotspot's network. Type in the password & user name given by your waiter and you're off & running.

Zanzibar's service was excruciatingly slow when I last used it in December. Blue Ocean is really fast and free also and only a couple of doors down from Zanzibar. Bali Deli also has a very fast hotspot. Unfortunately, it's not free. You can buy access time for about rp100,00 with is good for up to 5 hours, if I remember correctly, and you have up to a week to use up your access time.
