When I went after the famous media reported case, I had a zip case. After it was packed, I bought some brightly coloured tape (lime green!) and wrapped this around the case several times. I then wrote my name across the tape. If someone then goes to the trouble of getting into your bag, you will at least know as the tape is very hard to line up again so that the writing aligns. Hopefully this is enough to send them to the next bag, rather than yours. A bit like deadlocks on you doors. Yes they can get in, but they may just go to the next house!
