I would go from Kuta as its closer. Uluwatu is at the airport end of the island.

The dance may or may not be suitable for your young one - you best decide that, however there are people dressed up in costumes and they might be a bit scary for the little one.

Like I said just make sure that you get seats up high (miniature stadium type seating) as dependant on the wind, the fire can get close.

There are between 50 - 70 dancers who harmonize throughout the whole show - their poor vocal cords. It was almost trace like, we copied them the whole way home. You don't have to book, but like I said we went on a Monday, I thought there would be hardly anyone there but is was packed, so get in early for the good seats. Any good driver will know where to take you as it's very popular. From memory the dance starts at 6pm.

Dinner is not at the dance, but on the way back to Kuta you pass Jimbaran Bay as mentioned in my JBR.

I hope you have a great time.
