We have stayed in Permuteran twice, also stayed in Taman Silini - we also noticed that the people in this area are not as warm as those elsewhere, also it was difficult to get information about anything.
We enjoyed snorkelling at the island and found it very clear at the time we were there. Really enjoyed hearing about the wonderful couple you met up with, and to learn about their experiences with grand daughter.
