Sure, they'll wrap it up with other ideologies, but in the end it's ALWAYS a group that (rightly or wrongly) perceives itself as the underdog, convinces itself that they're fighting for the 'right' cause, and thus imagines it's appropriate to murder innocent people. I doubt very much it would make much difference to the vicitms, do you?
I knew a girl who was killed in the first bomb, and I had given her my rave review of Bali, so I DID feel a certain sense of responsibility. BUT, she'd been to far more dangerous places, Nepal, and i think, Kashmir. We just never know what's around the corner, and I for one, am glad. Would you want to know?
Your'e TOTALLY right that it's no good painting with a broad brush though. I personally expect that there will be more bombing, both in Bali (God forbid!) and in Australia. I think it's only a matter of time.
As to the family of victims, I wouldn't be arrogant enough to think that I could even BEGIn to imagine how they must feel.

I really DON"T think that anyone is safe, anywhere, that's just the illusion that we use to live our lives. trouble is, this is the only life I've got, I want to use it in the way that's right for me.
