On a more controversial tack.. I'm sure the scenes of unbridled intoxication and immorality associated particularly with many young Australian visitors - but other countries too of course- always caused disgust and deep down resentment in the Balinese, but they somehow held back untill the inevitable happened. History shows Indonesians can take an awfull lot but then spontaneously explode in "Night of Purnama" expressions of built up emotion. The word "amok" comes from there after all.
