Such a ME ME ME attitude from so many on here is unbelievable.

The seat pitch on Jetstar economy is 31'. That is top of the seat in front of you to the top of your seat (at the back of the seat). The seats are about 3' thick & the average female's body at chest level is about 14'. If the person in front reclines the seat it moves back about 12' there is therefore about a 2' gap between the chest & the top of the seat in front. Very considerate to your fellow traveller. I DON'T THINK.
Any one over about 5'8' tall has to also sit with their legs straddled either side of the reclined seat in front or have their kneecaps displaced.
You might as well lay all over the person alongside of you as well. What is the difference?

To say that the seat reclines so you will use it is a bit like saying my car is capable of 250kph so I have the right to do that speed. Not a legal obligation be surely a MORAL responsibility to your fellow traveller. Most of the seats in use were made well before travellers were squeezed in like cattle. The seats are also used as a "one size fits all" & are used in First & business class.
The recliners in economy will be phased out over time.

Regarding the 'balloon' figures referred to by Malibali I think that most of those 'balloon' people are the ones that lay the seat back to release the pressure on their guts. (Don't they TED)?

Regarding waiting until after meals. Jetstar take around 1.5 hours to serve meals to those that pay. People taking their own food will be eating & drinking at many varied times & are surely entitled to use their tray.

Nikki. Regarding the people that were behind you. The were using their actual allocated space (31') to rest their head on the meal tray & you were invading that space. Surely they are entitled to use THAT allocated space.

If you were on a flight with the TV sets built into the back of the seat in front & the people in front reclined their seat & you couldn't see the TV you would be the first ones to b*tch.

If you want to lay down, pay for 3 seats & spread out or fly business class.

The attitude of so many selfish people makes one understand why there are seeing so many divorces, separations & kids that have no respect for the life or property of their fellow man. The same people are the first to whinge about others hogging the pool lounges.
