travel agent assures me all will be running as usual before closing on 20th (not that I think she would actually have any idea about this!). Am a little concerned about atmosphere etc. at the hotel but she says the rep said all will be fine. She's not offering me any alternative so I guess we will have to go as planned and hope all goes well. Very sad tho.
