I am already forming an opinion that it is perhaps best to provide support in ways other than a straight cash donation.
Not sure what at this stage, but as other posters have said, a message also needs to be sent that we are not just a money bank, and that any further requests will be unlikely to turn up a straight cash "donation".
There is also the nagging thought that this could really be a genuine call for help, and the situation could be dire, so the concience is being given a fair work over!
We will sleep on it, and hopefully arrive at something that will keep everyone happy to a greater or lesser degree.
Regretfully, as previous posters have said, the relationship has now changed from no strings to perhaps a few threads.
