Got back on the 16th after spending 9 nights in Bali.
Didn't get off to the best start as we slept in. I like to give myself plenty of time to make sure everything is organised before we go on any holiday, my husband says i turn it into a military exercise.
Well mayhem ensued. Supposed to be at the airport for 7am woke up at about 6.20am, running around like idiots, didn't have time to leave my big list of do's and more importantly dont's for the grown up kids. Hit heavy traffic on the way as you would expect, anyway when we got there there were only a few people in front of us at the check in desk so sailed through check in etc and had just enough time to get to a duty free shop before we boarded.
Flew with Garuda, no problems at all. On route my hubbbie, then started asking me whether i had remembered to bring this and that which included adaptor, raspberry juice etc all of which you'll have guessed i left behind as i was rushed, and that is why it's like a military exercise with last minute checks before i go. Anyway too late to worry about it now as i settle back and get into holiday mode.
Got through the usual channels fairly quickly. Paid VOA in $AUD, i had read on here the change would be in rupiah but they gave me $AUD change so we grabbed our cases and headed off to change money. Went to the taxi window and booked our taxi to the Padma in Legian. Taxi was 50,000rp.
On arrival at Padma given icy cold flannels which was lovely as it was hot and humid. We had booked a deluxe chalet which was lovely, it was downstairs, the room was lovely, king sized bed, tv, Foxtel or sky but it had ESPN with plenty of soccer so hubby very happy, also had a dvd player. The shower was huge, just step down into it, bath was separate. Air-con was great, loved having the room nice and cold.
As we unpacked a fruit platter was delivered to us, there was also fresh flowers in the room.
Then off we went to explore the hotel and get our first bintang. It was great to be back. More shortly.
