Question to the expats

Hi folks,
We're heading back to Bali on Good Friday. Our friend over there has SMS'ed me and asked if I can buy a 2nd-hand laptop computer on his behalf. I'm keen to help him get ahead any way I can and I'm in the IT industry, so no probs finding one.

My concern is that I don't know whether I'm getting him better value than he could get over there. I'm hoping one of the expats who follow BTF might be able to advise...?

I've found a reconditioned P3 1.1Ghz, 512Mb, 30Mb, DVD, WinXP for $450. Can anyone tell me how this compares to laptop prices in Bali, please?

Your urgent reply would be most appreciated...I'll have to organise this fairly quickly.
