It depends on how much you are prepared to pay, but there is one more option. It is also the most expensive option, but is probably the most convenient too.
Blue Water Safari do a direct speed boat service in 2 hours, from Balu to Gili Trawangan, and back. They have a website with more details, but one way is 690,000rp. It is around twice as expensive as flying, but if you do decide to fly, remember that delays and cancellations are extemely common, and you may end up in the airport all day (I have been delayed for some long that the journey has ended up taking longer than taking the ferry). So the speed boat is an option to consider. They pick you up from your hotel in Bali (included in the price).
