OK, so the BEST way to get there is to fly from Denpasar to Mataram, then get a taxi to Bangsal harbour and get the local ferry over. Easy and quick, and relatively inexpensive.
But seeing as you don't want to fly, the next option is to go by ferry - you need to go from Pandang Bai in Bali to Lembar in Lombok, then get transport to Bangsal and then over to Gili T. Unless you start out VERY early you won't do it in a day as the last public ferry from Bangsal is at 2pm. You can charter one after that time, but be prepared to pay.
Be warned the ferries from Bali are old, filthy and dangerous, one sunk about 3 years ago killing most on board. I will only get on one as a last resort.
The tricky bit is also the transfers to Pandang Bai, and from Lembar to Bangsal. So you are better off going with someone like Perama who will pick you up in Bali and drop you off at Bangsal in Lombok.
Have a great time on Gili T when you get there.. and do consider flying.
