I have taken 3 children to Bali-
and the best advice i can give is
"Let them go ....relax ...and enjoy."
Because Bali is so laid back, individual and unique...most kiddies will soon make their own mind up -
the freedom this holiday will give your children will be a priceless memory in their minds forever...
and I have found that it is really grounding for most Western children to experience it for what is is.
One child comes home -back to school- and is applauded by her teachers on the 'wonderful confidence and 'good vibe' she brings back from Bali holidays' ....
the teachers often say that whatever happens in Bali must 'be good', as students so often come back with such a positive attitude..and seem to carry that Bali smile around for along time ..more holidays for her I say!!!
She loves the freedom and open interaction with adults and local children, and the hassling by hawkers is so minimal in most childrens minds , when weighed up with sunset gatherings on the beach, for a kick of the soccerball, or hit of tennis, endless games and swimming in the pool- etc etc.
The eldest says waaaaay too much 'Ar$# kissing'
going on for her- but retells , quite humorously, her little adventures to friends, with such a fond tone, she says she can take it or leave it!!!
But I think quietly...she'll be back :)
And the middle child says it is the most relaxing holday destination she has been to- she chose to return to Bali over a return trip to the states- ie: disneyland!!!
The wonderful opportunity to eat at different restaurants day and night- sight seeing- learning about adifferent culture-
shopping bargains, etc.... outweighs in her mind, any of the hassles that may occur there.
If you relax upon arrival,
and you should...
"hey,NO dishes... NO beds to make,..NO picking up-dropping off...No washing..etc...etc
...your children will probably pick up on your vibe and those little things that would normally upset you...may become a thing of the past...they have for me
Dont let things 'that you can't change' - annoy you....
Just laugh and let the children 'laugh with you!!!!'
Its all fun and its all good..."Enjoy!"
