He was only 8 and we gave him some rupiah in a wallet (only a few dollars) and he left it in our friends car. He was so upset. I had to buy him a wallet as soon as we arrived.
I would keep most in the safe and dole it out each day as cthey need it. I would get each a wallet and attach a chain so they can clip it to their shorts. I have a chain on mine and clip it to my shoulder bag. A hint I got from Didiaust. I'm more relaxed as I don't leave the shop and think "did I get my wallet" because I know I can't physically leave bit behind.
Also they don't need to carry huge amounts because things are so cheap.
