as the first flights from the GC get in around 7:30. You'd then have to allow time for baggage collection, and then a bus/cab/train around to the international terminal.
Personally, I wouldn't risk it. Hell, I live IN Sydney and often stay at an airport hotel if I have an early morning flight ;)
I agree with Pak Jim and would definitely suggest staying at one of the airport hotels. There is a Formule 1 with standard rate of $84, but good deals can usually be found for the other higher standard hotels. I would recommend the Stamford.
