I really love Secret Garden and would definitely feel ok about staying there if alone.
The guests were of mixed ages whilst being mainly Aussie. It has a really nice feel about it. I think it can be best described as having the feel of a losmen with the facilities of a hotel. Clean quite new rooms around the pool which is deep and so maybe not the best for small kids and in fact if you like to lie around in the shallows I suggest a ring or noodle or something even for adults!
The rooms are quite big with more than the usual quantity of cupboards and a large empty fridge. Air con and fan. TV with sattelite but no movie channel, has Australian TV and either CNN or BBC I think.
The staff are a delight. My personal favourite is Leo the room boy/bell boy/waiter/anything else that comes up!! The breakfast was of very good quality. Included in the price is toast & eggs, fruit and fruit juice and coffee. For Rp. 10.000 extra we had bacon and tomato.
If we wanted a drink from the restaurant fridge and no staff member was there we were told "Just help yourself and write it in the book".
Two of the owners Joan and Peter were there at the time and were most hospitable and welcoming.
Yes you are correct it is at the back of Secret Garden Restaurant and next to AP Inn. Don't be put off by the exterior blank cement wall because inside it really is a secret garden.
It's on our list of places to stay every time now.
Enjoy, and say hello to Leo!!!
