But no, I don't really do those things.
1. No, I don't take duty free alcohol into Bali at all. I'm not that much of a drinker and have never felt the urge to drink spirits over there.
2. I really only drink Bintangs and they're generally no more than a couple of dollars each. I drink where I'm happy to be, and don't bother chasing happy hours.
3. I pay what I know the going price to be, then at the end I round the total up to the nearest 5 or 10 thousand.
4. Again, nope. I don't drink at the pool. But then I don't spend much time at the hotel pool anyway. Just the odd splash to cool down.
5. Yeah, I've shuffled luggage putting small heavier things in my handbag rather than my check in luggage, but not anything massively heavy and I've never had trouble with anyone trying to charge me for excess luggage/hand luggage.
6. I don't rent cars in Bali. When I rent them in Australia I fill them up before returning them.
7. Maybe I stay at cheaper hotels, but the bar fridges are usually empty anyway. I have used the drinks out of the fridge at hotels where they were full, and where I was only staying for a night or two. If I'm staying longer term I buy my own drinks, fruit etc to put in the fridge.
8. I've never taken alcohol to an eatery in Bali - but again, I only drink Binnies anyway, so there's no need to.
