Hi tigger,

Lucky you spending Christmas in Bali!

We were there in Dec/Jan & therefore spent Christmas & New Year in Bali. We were in Ubud for Christmas & spent a lazy day around the hotel pool where we ordered a seafood lunch to be delivered poolside. We had the pool to ourselves (this is reflective of the quiet hotel we stayed at) & thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful & relaxed day.

Some shops & restaurants had a christmas tree & decorations up which added to the magical feel leading up to Christmas. I suggest you perhaps take your own bonbons & a christmas hat each to add to the festive occasion on the day.

Not sure if you are spending New Year in Bali also.....
We were in Legian for New Year. We spent it quietly at a restaurant near to our accom. not wanting to venture out too far or too late with our kids. The Balinese were certainly accommodating by organising Bands & entertainment at various venues, but there just did not seem to be the volume of people there to enjoy it eg. 2 couples watching a band & the same again at the next venue, maybe 3 at the next etc.

Many hotels have a set menu for New Years Eve, but I don't think this is the case for Christmas Day. Between Christmas & New Year & the first few days of Jan. there were many people from Jakarta in Legian/Kuta. The traffic was chaotic. Once they left, it was very quiet.

Hope this helps & you enjoy a great Christmas!

Regards,

Ruby.
