is one of my all time favourite places to be.
It's located about four miles from the turn off for Amlapura

There are lily ponds, and also really clean spring fed pools for visitors to swim in. The water is so clean because a continual stream of cool mountain water flows down into the ponds and pools, and then to the town.
Here are two pics i took when i stayed in a small homestay the royal family maintain in the grounds of the water palace.

There is a cheaply priced restaurant with nice food overlooking the grounds, and a couple of little restaurants and warungs just outside the palace entrance.

Just replace thw word, 'dot' with an actual .

"The name comes from Tirta (holy water) and Gangga (Ganges). As for the history, this water palace was a part of Puri Kanginan palace, and at that time, the royal family managed to retain both title and certain powers under Dutch occupation. A mixture of Europe, China, and Bali enriched both architectural and layout in most area. 'Bali London', one of the many which furniture is influenced by the Royal Crest in England. It has spring water called Embukan which is recognized as holy and sacred water. The Tirtagangga water palace opens daily from 7AM to 6 PM."
