I would recommend the Ubud monkey forest - there are guides there & they feed the monkeys fruit to keep them happy. I have found the monkeys at Sangeh very aggressive & wouldn't recommend it for kids.
Make sure you put away anything dangly, like sunglasses as they may take a fancy to them! Last year I was at the Ubud monkey forest & sitting on a low wall watching some monkeys playing when a big male monkey climbed up onto my head! A guide immediately ran over & told me to stand up & start walking & the monkey climbed back down with no harm to either of us. I was very proud of myself for staying calm!
You just need to remember that these are wild animals & you should keep a respectful distance & you'll be fine.
